This class has been a great. I learned so much and am so happy i got to be part of a class like this. When i was first told i had to take this class i was not happy at all, i excpeted a boring class where i had to read passages all day and take quizes on them. On the first day of this class i knew i was gonna love it. The way the class is presented is great and has a great enviroment. I love the open discussions and the different ways you got us to read the books. You made it easy to understand by dividing the books into sections and then given a review of them after. I liked how there was no quizez because it made the class more laidback and relaxing which makes it alot more fun to learn in. I can honeslty say this was my favorite class and i learned so much. Not only about reading but about my carreer in general. I also learend about current events how to debate and how to communicate with others. I enjoyed everything you did in this class and i am so happy i got to have a professor like you. You made this class so much fun and we were able to comee to you for anything. Even things that didnt relate to the class but life in generall. You are a great professor and i wanted to say Thank You for all your help this semester. I am glad i had a teacher who i can go to for anything.

I find this book to be very interesting. While reading it you can learn so much, especialy about the culture and all the interesting facts about life at that time. Though for some reason this book is not a very quick read like the others. Yet, it is still very enjoyable and i can not wait to see what happens next.

For the final project i have done the entire about me section. I have also made up some interview questions to ask the person i am interviewing. i am going to give her the questions soon and begin the section that has to deal with it. I am still trying to think of a way to make it more creative =)

Yes i was interested in the Anna Nicole controversey because it was just plain out interesting. It was all over the place so its not like you could avoid it eather. Everyone was talking about it too, so if you wanted something to talk about you kinda had to be interested in it. I think the whole fact that her son just died made this more interesting and attracted it to me. He only died a few months before her, something strange is going on in my opinion

1) I think people still watch scary movies even though they scare them because it entertains you while you are watching it. It makes you want to keep watching it because you know something interesting is going to happen. I am definitly one of those people who watch scary movies even though i am going to be scared. I like being entertained and knowing that something will keep my interest.
2) I think celebrities use drugs and alchol to cope with stress because that is the only way they know how. They dont want to go to someone for help because they dont want to look weak while doing so. I think the divorce was part of the reason she started using drugs but i dont think it is the whole reason. I think she tries to make it look like that is the only reason she is using drugs. I think she shaved her head for many reason,, drugs being one of them. She could have shaved it because she wanted to get rid of her image as well.
3) The birth control method in china is just crazy. I dont think that will happen in the US though. Its not fair and the people here wont stand for something like that. They need their freedom and being told how many kids they are alowed is not letting them have their freedom.

If i was a celebrity i dont think i will be able to handle all the pressure. I would not want to be followed areound all the time and have to deal with making sure i look good ALL the time. I dont need other people in my business i want to be able to live my own life without having to worry about everything that is going on.

If i was the judge at the trial, i honeslty dont know what i would do. This would most likely be a very hard descion to make. I think i would keep it at manslaughter because its not like they wanted to kill him, it was more of a mistake. Yes it could have been a racial thing but still you really dont know so therfore you can name it Murder!

In a president i am looking for someone who is going to be strong and knows what is going on. They need to know how everything works and needs to be able to work well with other people. He/She needs to be able to make a good inpression and have a lot of good topics to talk about. I think that the two candidates both have good qualties. They both will most likely be able to handle the job well. Bush i guess sometimes has these quatlties. Honestly i really dont understand politics but i think he has some of these qualties.

After reading on the shootings and the Hit List it was very intense. If i was a student and i knew a kid had a hit list i would tell someone right away. I would not hold that in, just incase it turns out to be crazy. Also if i was a teacher i would def tell bc it is my responsiblity to take care of all the chidlren. HighSchool violence has made a huge impacted on every students life, it makes them think how crazy life could really be. Hit list should def be taken seriously they are not something to joke about. Its a very serious issue, the students need to be talked to about all this.

The first group that went today did their presentation on fairy tales and let us know about the interseting "twist" that a fairy tale can have. We learned the different meanings of some fairy tales as well. Their blog question was do i think fairy tales teach a moral lesson? My answer is yes, i think that every fairy tale has an important lesson behind. I think thats the point all the writers are trying to get too. Whether it be smart or careful. Or just something like dont judge a book by its cover. Or the famous dont talk to strangers. Each fairy tale a young child or even an adult reads defintely teaches them something.
The second group was giancarlo and myself. We did ours on american idol and all the controversy that surrounds its voting system. The question that i picked to answer was why do they keep some bad singers on the show that obviously should have been voted off? I think they do this because they feel it is more entertainment for the audience and all they really care about is the amount of viewers the show gets every week. The bad people make it "funny" and allow the audience to get a kick out of the show instead of just watching people sing.

During my spring break, we had to choose a book that we found interesting. Well i am a huge fan of Justin Timberlake so i decided to read one of his biographies about him. It was interesting to get to know some of the stuff that i actually did not know. I thought i knew everything about him, but i guess not haha. I read about his family and how well they get along. How he started out and how he feels about his life at the moment. I really enjoyed reading a book that i picked out. It was easy to read and i did not want to put it down. I enjoyed this assigment alot.

For the final project i am interesting in the field of Early Childhood education. I have always wanted to be a pre-school teacher. I work at a preschool with the age group that i have always wanted to do. I plan on asking the teaher in the room in which i work at about this career and how she got to where she is today. As of right now i plan on doing a paper and maybe a scrapbook to go along with it. With this field i need to get information on what kind of classes i need to take and how many years of schooling it takes to get there. I also need to find different ways to work up to this goal of becoming a preschool teacher. With this field i should be able to know how and when i need to be done with everything and how hard it is to keep up with all the different projects needed to give the children. Preschool is a very challenging field with many different classes one needs to take. I also want to know about the teacher certification and how long it takes to get to that.

After todays discussion in class and the movie we finished the topic of dicussion was womens rights and the rights of the children as well in different countries. I think we really need to help these women out. To see the way they have to live their life is just crazy. It is so hard to watcha nd very important to understand that they can be helped. Maybe we can send some money or even send people in there and let them helped them out with anything they need. Maybe give them some food and a better place to live. A new way of life, let them experience a kind of life that others experience. These poor women cant even show their facees. Thats horrible, its not fair at all for the women. THey have no rights and no way to express themselves because no one listens to them. They shouldnt be treated like this. Men and women should be treated the same and have the same respect. To see the women get treated as if they do nothing for the men is crazy. These women do more for their families the anybody else. They help others out before them selves. I think we really need to go to where they are and give them all the help they need. With the childrens rights we need to do the same, because they are being treated the same way the women are ..UNFAIRLYY!!!

Okay so its Febuary 20th and im sitting here listening to Timbalands new song because Justin Timberlake is in it and i LOVE him haha. So its a little over a month until the Justin Timberlake concert and i am so excitedd =) I have floor tickets and i am going to be so close to him , i can touch him. Tommorow is mine and Vinnys 7 months <3 i cant believe how fast the time went. This weekend was my friends birthday and we celebrated by going to a comedy club called Rascals. It was very funny. The comedian was great and i was laughing so hard i was practically crying. He made fun of people in the audience including me haha. It was interesting. Also this weekend was really great at work because i did really well in tips. For one of the parties i did, i got a 120 dollar tip. Its nice having money because usually i dont.

Todays conversation in class about families and tradition was really interesting to me. Its great to know that you have a family like mine and my father isnt the only dad who is like that. Most of my friends are free to do whatever they want and think its crazy the type of rules i have. I get annoyed sometimes but most of the time i dont mind because i know its only to help me and keep me safe. I love my family and i wouldnt trade them for the world.

So anyway, tommorrow i have a presentation to make and im actually really nervous and on friday i have to read an entire love story that i made up in italian. So basically i can not wait for this week to be over. This week just seems to be a little crazy and annoying, i feel like its going very slow and it needs to end haha.

okay soo im going to go do some of my homework and then make a grilled cheese because i am in the mood for one haha..

BTW: i need to go to the mall , i havent been there in so long because of work and school i feel so lost =)

Men and Women

When one thinks of a man they think strong and powerful and when one thinks of the women they think sensitive and loving. In todays world men and women are somewhat viewed equal but are still put into categories which in my opinion wont ever change. Men are considered to have to jobs where they use their hands like mechanics. They dont really care about their appreance at certain times. They like getting dirty and fixing things. Men make sure they are the MAN of the house and run the show basically. Men dont show emotion and act different when they are where their girlfriends or wives then when they are around their friends. Men are sometimes cocky and think they can handle more then women can but most of the time they cant. Men for some reason think they are smarter then women which is totally wrong. On the other hand, women are gentile kind and have a heart. They take care of others and dont try to pleae everyone. They love getting dressed up and going to fancy places. Women get thier nails done every week and dont care about how much it cost. They love getting their hair done. Women are consideerd to be stay at home moms and nurses. They are looked at as only teachers and someone who is always with kids. Though on the other hand they also are sometimes cocky and judge people way too much. DRAMA always comes with a girl and they love to start it. Gossip is their favoirite thing. Magazines with celebs and their life and books about love stories are wat they love to read. Movies with a romance plot is the best movie for them. When it comes to men, women never know what they really want and are ALWAYS confused but in the end they always end up finding the right guy. =)

Okay soo this snow storm is starting to get me excited...I just got home from work and the entire day my boss and other employees were talking about a day off ahh .. hopefully its true. The amount of snow i heard is crazy and it is suppose to snow all nite and all day wednesday ..which kinda stinks because its valentines day and that just ruins it , but it also means maybe no class and work.. i dont know whether to be happy or annoyed haha..Anyway, soo tomm is Valentines Day and i still have yet to wrap my boyfriends gift. I had NO IDEA what to get him , bc for christmas i got him the Nintendo Wii and i did not know how to top that . so i just did something cute and cheesy haha... I bought him a basket and a bunch of candy and in the basket im puttin all this red stuff and the first season of 24 with a chocolate heart and a teddy bear <3..im gonna wrap it in that clear wrap thing but it has hearts on it, its really cute lol.
Anyway, im gonna go start my italian homework and my mythology hw ahh.. oh btw i got a 100% on my myth quiz and im soo happy and kinda in shock haha..

I am sitting here in front of my labtop listing to Le Click- Tonite is the Night haha.. Im trying to do this project for one of my classes but im having a little trouble actually starting it. There is so much information and i dont know where to start. So i stopped and i decided to post a blog on how my day was yesterday and what i did. Yesterday was two years from when my nonna (grandma) died of cancer. Therefore yesterday we had a very emotional church ceremony to remember how great of a person she was and how much we all love her very much. My nonna's name was also Lucia and i was very close with her so this week has been kinda emotional for me. Yesterday was also my first day back to my preschool where i work because ive been really sick. It was great to see the kids again and see that they remember me especially since almost all of them came running up to me screaming Miss Lulu. Its a great feeling to know that you know EXACTLY what you want to do with your life. I know i wanna work with kids because i just love being around them and teaching them new things.
Yesterday i didnt see my boyfriend because he wasnt feeling well, so instead we had a great 2 hour conversion on the phone. after ONe Tree Hill of course haha..which was amazing last nite by the way haha. I cant wait for tonite and Greys Anatomy. Well anyway i guess ill get back to the projecct i have to do Ahh =/....

Reaction to Genocide/Rwanda

Today in class we discussed different views on genocide and how people react to them. We also learned about Rwanda and how much of an impact it had. Learning about the horrible situations and the crazy things the people did was interesting to learn about. I feel as these people are crazy and have no right to do such things. The reactions from the different people who went there where so emotional. I feel as though these people will be reminded of this throughout their entire life. There is no way they can forget something so horrible and heartbreaking. Rwanda killed so many people in such little time, its crazy to think how they did it. How is it possible to kill so many people and not feel an inch of hurt inside. This whole thing is just horrible and completely out of control.

What I want to Learn about Genocide

As i was looking up different things up about Italy and wondering whether there was a genocide or not, i relized there was none. Though as i was searching for this an interesting topic came up. The Armenian Genocide which occured within Europe. As i was reading about this i came along some interesting facts about all this. Such as the amount of deaths, there was death to hundreds of thousands to over a million Armenians. I also came across something horrible such as the Republic of Turkey todays says there was never a genocide and instead the dealths were from famine or disease in World War 1. After reading "Night" genocide became the next topic in class. The guestion we were asked is why does genocide keep happening and what if anything can stop it. I feel as though genocide just keeps happening because of the people in the world todday. I feel as they dont care about anybody but themselves and dont think that they should help out at all. If people stopped judging people then none of this would happen. If people would just except people for who they are and not try to change them we wouldnt have a problem. I feel as though we cant really "stop" it unless we totally change the views of people today. Unless every single person changes the way they look at people and how they feel, nothing else can change it.

IT SNOWEDD and IT WAS COLD!!

For the first time this winter it actually felt like winter and more to come tommorrow. I love love love snow and when i woke up today for my 8:30 class Ugghhh and i saw the snow on my car i was like wow, its actually january. Today was not that bad of a day, i went to my classes came home and then went to work. Work was great, i love my class where i am a assistant teacher it just makes my day soo much better when my little 2 year olds run up to me and say MISS LULU. I read MANY stories to my little ones and colored soo many pictures haha. I also played bingo and built different castles haha.

Though the one downfall of the day is that im sick. I HATE HATE HATE being sick and i have a cold , i hate colds they are the worse. BUT the besst part of today has not happened yet.. GREYS ANATOMY is on at 9 and i can not wait. im gonna put on some sweats curl up by the tv with my mac and cheese and watch some greys anatomy, its going to be great. But for now i have to go do some homework. =/

When i was first told to read "Night" all i kept thinking was oh no here comes another boring book that we HAVE to read for class. But to my suprise this book turned out to be amazing. We had to read just the preface and introduction but i couldnt put the book down. I kept reading and enjoyed every page and every line in the book. The book was so detailed and really kept my interest. I felt as though i really got to know the characters in the novel. This book really lets you understand the hardship that the people had to go through. I can not wait to continue reading and finishing the novel.

Hello,

My name is Lucia, I am 19 years old and i am 100% italian. I visit Italy often and have many relatives there as well. Some of my cousins live there along with my dad and moms aunts. I love to dance, I was once part of a dance team and loved every minute of it. I work at a preschool in my town and i could not ask for a better job. I love working with children and one day hope to open up my own preschool. I am majoring in early childhood education at Montclair State Universtity. I also work at a childrens entertainment place where i am a party hostess for childrens birthday parties. I have a huge family and i love my family parties. I have a younger brother named Raffaele who is 16 years old. I have an amazing boyfriend named Vinny. He is always there for me and i hope to be with him forever. I can not wait till March 29th 2007 because i am going to see Justin Timberlake in concert. I am a huge fan of Justin Timberlake and i will be in the third row on the floor during his concert. My friends are my life and i love them very much. I love listening to music and waking up to music. I love Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy,One Tree Hill, and House. I drink 2-3 cups of DUNKIN DONUTS coffee a day and will never get sick of it. I love to read books by Nicholas Sparks and when i read his books i cant put it down. I love shopping especially at American Eagle and Hollister. I love love love jeans but i also love wearing sweatpants. I dont mind just sitting home and relaxing by the tv sometimes instead of going out. I cry over everything no matter if its happy or sad. Most of the time i get along well with my parents. I am a very girly girl, i love getting my nails and hair done. I love the summer but i dont like the beach because im not a fan of the ocean. I love wearing hats and lots of jewelery. Though most of the time my life is pretty confusing but i get through it. I wouldnt change it for the world.

I am taking this basic reading course and at first i expected it to be a overview of basically the test i didnt do so well on. Though this class is so much more and im happy about it. Its so interesting and gets you to be involved with the materials at hand. With this class i hope to get the learning materials needed in order to pass the test. Though most of all i want to be able to know more about reading and understanding reading in general.
